Protect & Preserve - June 2019

protect-preserve-snake_06.png

After the murder of a Two-Spirit Trans Womxn, her lover, and fellow Two-Spirit, Apanpiltzin is unable to find healing. She is haunted by her very real fear of being murdered for being a Trans Womxn of Color. This short play is a tribute to the missing and murdered Indigenous Womxn of the American continent, and is in solidarity with all the Trans Womxn and Femmes of Color who have been murdered for daring to exist.

Nelwat Ishkamewe presents this play as part of the 2019 Politics & Arts: District Vox & 2019 DC Black Theatre & Arts Festival: One Act Battle, with sponsorship by Trans-Latinx DMV.
