Description:

Community art workshop in which participants will explore, through different visual arts techniques, their community stories and relationship with themselves and their community, creating collective collage paintings representing the stories of their community.

Aiming to:

Promote open spaces for collective creation in which, through visual arts, participants reflect as a community on the past, present and future of their shared community.

​

Goals:

• To bring community stories to the space and strengthen community bonds.

• To acknowledge the past and history of the land where Washington DC sits on. 

• To bring community stories to the space and strengthen community bonds.

• To recognize community shared memories and emotions around Washington DC.

• To evaluate the present of our community and our relationship with it. 

• To be creative, creating new possibilities for our community.

• To grow hope and mobilization in the workshop participants. 

• To reflect on our own responsibilities.
