Xuchit Alas is a first year student in the Duke Ellington School of the Arts Theatre Department. Born and raised in DC, Xuchit saw many stories that weren’t being told, and later on it influenced them to be the one to tell those stories. At the age of eleven they began performing and found their passion for theatre, which bought them to find a love of writing. Xuchit loves to see the world as story waiting to be told. They hope to graduate Duke Ellington School of the Arts in 2021, and continue to study theatre and writing in college. They were the recipient of the 2018 Mr. Trans-Latinx-DMV Trans-Masculine Youth Scholarship, presented by Trans-Latinx DMV.
